Welcome to SplitSave. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the SplitSave website, mobile application, products, features and related services.

By accessing or using SplitSave, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use SplitSave.

SplitSave is a financial technology platform and is not a bank. SplitSave does not guarantee financial outcomes, investment returns or savings performance.

1. About SplitSave

SplitSave is a financial technology platform designed to help users build better saving habits through digital tools, savings goals, wallet features, automation, insights and future financial wellness services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or have permission from a parent or legal guardian where allowed by law. You must provide accurate and complete information when using SplitSave.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features, you may need to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. User Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate account information.
  • Keep your login credentials confidential.
  • Use SplitSave only for lawful purposes.
  • Do not misuse, disrupt, hack, reverse engineer or abuse the platform.
  • Report suspicious activity or unauthorised account access immediately.

5. SplitSave Services

SplitSave may provide savings tools, wallet features, goal tracking, referral challenges, financial insights, notifications, future payment integrations, bank integrations, open banking features and other related services.

Some features may be introduced, changed, suspended or discontinued as the platform develops.

6. Savings, Wallet and Financial Features

SplitSave may allow users to create savings goals, simulate deposits, track balances or use wallet-related functionality. Where real-money features are introduced, they may depend on authorised third-party providers, banks, payment processors or regulated financial partners.

Users are responsible for reviewing all transaction details before confirming any payment, transfer or savings action.

7. Fees and Charges

SplitSave may charge service fees, transaction fees or subscription fees for certain features. Any applicable fees will be disclosed before use.

8. Referrals, Rewards and Challenges

SplitSave may run referral campaigns, savings challenges, leaderboards and reward programmes. Rewards are subject to verification, eligibility, availability and campaign rules.

  • Fraudulent referrals may be disqualified.
  • Duplicate, fake or inactive accounts may be removed.
  • SplitSave may amend or cancel challenge rules where necessary.
  • Rewards are not guaranteed until verified and approved by SplitSave.

9. Prohibited Activities

  • Creating fake accounts.
  • Abusing referral systems.
  • Attempting unauthorised access.
  • Using SplitSave for fraud, money laundering or illegal activity.
  • Uploading malware or harmful code.
  • Interfering with app security or operations.

10. Third-Party Services

SplitSave may integrate with third-party providers such as payment processors, banks, identity verification providers, analytics providers, communication tools and cloud hosting providers.

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies. SplitSave is not responsible for third-party service availability, failures or actions outside our control.

11. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of SplitSave is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We process personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act where applicable.

12. Intellectual Property

All SplitSave content, software, designs, branding, logos, trademarks, text, graphics and technology remain the property of SplitSave or its licensors. Users may not copy, reproduce or exploit our intellectual property without permission.

13. Service Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee that SplitSave will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free or free from technical issues.

14. Account Suspension or Termination

SplitSave may suspend or terminate access where a user breaches these Terms, commits fraud, creates security risks, abuses the platform or violates applicable laws.

15. Disclaimers

SplitSave provides tools to support saving habits and financial awareness. SplitSave does not provide personalised financial, tax, legal, investment or insurance advice unless clearly stated through an authorised partner or regulated provider.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SplitSave will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, including loss of profits, data, business opportunity or financial outcomes arising from use of the platform.

17. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify SplitSave against claims, damages, losses or expenses arising from misuse of the platform, breach of these Terms or violation of applicable laws.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be published on this page. Continued use of SplitSave after updates means you accept the revised Terms.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
